We will automatically pull in all available codes, and you choose which ones you’d like to make available to Honey members, and which ones you’d like to remove from the Honey system. This feature is free. However, as a commitment to our users, you must provide at least one coupon code to Honey members in order to use this feature.

Reward and engage with your highest intent shoppers by allowing Honey members to “follow” your store. Members are alerted via email or push notification when a sale or working coupon code is detected on your site. Honey Members will also be able to find you on the Honey mobile app.
Can I use the Honey App on Shopify if I’m already partnered with Honey outside of Shopify?
Yes! You can still use the Honey app to manage the discount codes you’d like to share with Honey. Also, if you are not already a member of one of Honey’s affiliate partner networks, you can enable Honey’s reward program from the Honey Shopify app too.
How do I create a store page on joinhoney.com?
Once you’ve signed up for the Honey App, we will automatically set up a store page for you on joinhoney.com and on the Honey mobile app.
Your store page includes your logo, website, active coupon codes (only those shared with Honey), Honey Gold rewards, and the option for shoppers to ‘follow’ your store. Once they’ve chosen to follow your store, they will receive notifications via email or mobile when a sale or working coupon code is detected on your site.
Not to worry! You can still use Honey. If you currently work with an affiliate network that is partnered with Honey, you will be directed to our Partnerships team, who will help you get setup with Honey outside of the Honey Shopify App.
What if I already belong to an affiliate network?
What is an affiliate network?
An affiliate network is an intermediary between publishers and merchant affiliate programs. In an affiliate network, an affiliate (like Honey) earns a commission for marketing your products. For example, when Honey promotes your store or products with a Honey Gold campaign, we earn a commission of each sale.
In the case of the Honey Shopify App, you do not need to partner with us through an affiliate network.
How does Honey make money?
We earn a commission on each Honey Gold rewards transaction. Users are of utmost importance to Honey and we pass back a portion of our commission directly to the shopper.
Keep in mind, Honey Gold campaigns are performance-based, so commission is only paid to Honey when a shopper makes a purchase.

What is Honey Gold?
Honey Gold is our points-based loyalty program where Members can earn Honey Gold points on eligible purchases to redeem in the form of gift cards or cash back. Learn more about Honey Gold here.
How it Honey Gold Works:
When Honey members land on your site, they see a Gold reward in the Honey extension.
This reward shows the points-back percentage range the member will receive if they purchase at your store. The rewards percentage range is dependent on the commission rate you’ve chosen – the higher the commission rate the higher the Gold reward.
If the Honey member completes a purchase, they will receive an email confirming the amount of Gold they’ve received. This award will show which percentage back (from the range presented to them on your site) they won.
Once a Honey member has earned 1,000 Gold points, they can redeem for a gift
How do I adjust my Honey Gold rate?
To adjust your Honey Gold rate, simply update your commission rate for Honey Gold under the Budget tab in your Honey Shopify app.

How do I add/remove codes on the Honey platform?
What is a Honey Branded Code?
Honey Branded Codes are coupon codes that are exclusively offered to Honey members. Shoppers often abandon their cart to search for better deals. But with an exclusive Honey branded code, they’ll have an extra reason to shop, convert, and return.
What’s more, you can take advantage of Honey brand trust by creating a Honey branded code that caters to Honey’s loyal base of 30M+ members.
Getting started is easy. Navigate to the Honey App in Shopify and you’ll find Honey coupon code setup under the Discounts tab. You create a coupon code within the Shopify app by choosing the percent discount you’d like to provide. The coupon uses the following structure: HONEY[percent discount amount]. This coupon will automatically appear within the Honey extension and on joinhoney.com.
Can I remove any code that is listed on the Honey app? I want to control what users see on the extension.
You can use the Honey Shopify app to manage all your active codes. However, in order to balance the needs of both our users and merchant partners, we don’t allow you to remove user generated codes. User generated codes are codes that Honey users have submitted manually to Honey.
Should you need to remove user generated codes from the Honey app, reach out to our Partner Support team at honeypartnersupport@joinhoney.com and they will work with you to remove unwanted codes.
We understand that often coupon codes are important for attribution measurement, and we are working to provide more control over user generated coupon codes.
How much Honey Gold equals $10?
Currently, 1,000 Honey Gold points can be redeemed for $10 USD worth of gift cards, cash-back, or donations.
How do customers earn Honey Gold?
Gold is awarded to customers as a percentage on the subtotal of their purchase. This excludes tax or any additional fees such as shipping.
For example, when a Honey member activates a Gold reward with a range of 1 - 8% Honey Gold points back. They will receive somewhere in the range of 1% to 8% points back on the subtotal of their purchase. After they’ve purchased, they will receive an email notifying them of what percentage they received. In this way, Honey Gold points are gamified, the Honey shopper never knows exactly what percentage back they will receive until after they’ve purchased.
How can customers redeem Honey Gold?
Once customers have earned enough Honey Gold, they can redeem it via the following three options:
Exchange: Customers can exchange their honey Gold points for an e-gift card from our select merchant partners.
Donate: Customers can their Honey Gold to a cause of their choice through CharityChoice. Limited to US customers only.

Please Note: This option requires a valid personal account with PayPal in good-standing. To cash out, they'll need to link a bank account or debit card. Cash out is limited to US customers only.
Why do Honey members see a range of Gold rewards? What does the range mean?
Honey Gold is a gamified experience. Honey members see a range of possible percentage points back. Only after their purchase do they learn what percentage, within the specified range, they earned on that purchase.
For example, when a Honey member activates a Gold reward with a range of 1 - 8% Honey Gold points back. They will be randomly assigned a percentage between 1% and 8%. After they’ve purchased, they will receive an email notifying them of what percentage points-back they received.

When setting up your Honey Gold campaign, you will be asked to choose your commission rate. We offer a 5% commission rate minimum. There is no maximum commission rate. We’ve seen that Honey Gold campaigns are more successful for our merchant partners when the commission rate allows for enticing deals for Honey members.
What is the minimum monthly spend limit for a Honey Gold campaign?
There is a $1,000 minimum Honey Gold monthly spend limit. In other words, you cannot set up a Honey Gold campaign with a monthly spend limit lower than $1,000 USD.
How are charges incurred?
You (or your Shopify store owner) will only be charged when opted into the Honey Gold product, listed under the Budget tab. Subsequently, you will only a charge when customers make a purchase after activating a Gold Reward. We use the charge to award the customer our virtual currency, Honey Gold.
Coupon management and Honey Branded Codes are both free features within the Honey Shopify app.
[Tip: Use your Honey app dashboard to manage your budget, optimize Honey Gold, and get the most out of your shopping tools.]
Should you ever want to check on your Honey Gold transaction, you can review your commissionable transactions in the Budget tab. If you notice any transactions you believe should not be eligible for rewards, you can mark them as ineligible from this tab. All commissions will auto-approve after 60 days unless marked as ineligible before the 60-day period.

What currency will I be billed in?
You will be billed in USD. We are hoping to expand into more countries and currencies soon. Be on the lookout for an update on our international expansion!
Does the Honey app have a billing cycle?
The Honey App billing cycle is the same as your Shopify billing cycle. You will begin incurring charges on the day that you start your Honey Gold campaign, and you will be billed for those charges along with your Shopify 30-day invoice.
For example, if you begin your Honey Gold campaign on April 10th and your Shopify 30-day invoice is normally sent on the 5th of every month, you will receive a bill for the Honey Gold charges from April 10th to May 4th on your May 5th bill.
For more information on Shopify App Usage billing, see this page.
Shopify will notify you or your store owner of a new bill via email every 30 days. For more information, please see the following Shopify help docs:
What happens when a customer returns an item?
When a customer returns or cancels their order, the Gold rewards earned from that purchase will be removed from their account. You will not be billed for those Gold rewards, if the shopper returns or cancels their order within 60 days. If the shopper returns or cancels their order after 60 days, they will still retain the Gold points and you will be billed for the rewards transaction.
No. You will only be charged when purchases are made after a Honey member has activated a Honey Gold reward. The monthly spend limit doesn’t change the amount of commission charged on each transaction. It simply allows for more rewards to be activated by Honey members, up to your spend limit, but not over.
Will my account be charged when I make updates to my monthly spend limit?
Will I be alerted when I reach my monthly spend limit?
No, you won’t be alerted. However, you can log in to your Honey app dashboard at any time to see how your campaign budget is being spent. Additionally, you will never be charged more that your monthly spend limit.
You’re monthly spend limit updates every billing cycle (every 30 days). So, your new spend limit will apply on the first day of your next Shopify billing period. In other words, if you change your budget cap in the middle of a billing cycle, your budget cap will not update until the next billing cycle beginning on the first day of your next Shopify 30-day invoice period.
If I change my monthly spend limit, when does the monthly spend limit update? What happens when I change my budget cap in the middle of a billing cycle?
What happens if I change my commission rate in the middle of a billing cycle?
If you change your commission rate in the middle of a billing cycle, your Honey Gold rewards percentage will be updated for the next billing cycle. However, Honey Gold will only continue to be awarded up until you reach your spending limit.
As a partner, you have control over the coupon codes made available to Honey members on our extension, mobile app, and joinhoney.com.
To update your codes, navigate to your Honey App in the Shopify platform. From there, navigate to the Discounts tab on your dashboard where you can select only the codes you want included on Honey properties.
If you haven’t created a Honey Branded Code or chosen at least one coupon code to feature on Honey, you will see an error.
In order to continue to provide a positive experience for Honey members and balance the needs of both our merchant partners and members, we require that you add at least one coupon to the Honey App, whether that be one of your existing codes, or a new Honey Branded Code.
We’ve seen that adding discount codes can help increase order value and reduce cart abandonment by giving members an extra incentive to purchase.
Important note: While you can manage any coupons your business has used, you will not be able to remove coupon codes submitted to Honey by members from the Honey Shopify App. We call these ‘user generated codes.’
Should you need to remove user generated codes from the Honey app, reach out to our Partner Support team at honeypartnersupport@joinhoney.com and they will work with you to remove unwanted codes.
